Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT)

Is a training institution within the state department of roads, in the larger Ministry of Road and Transport. We are mandated to capacity build the roads sector. We have three campuses, one main campus in Nairobi, another one in Ngong, Kajiado County and another in Kisii County. Apart from capacity building courses was also offer regular programs for students pursuing craft courses. The vision is to be the preferred training institute for infrastructure development in Africa and beyond and an accompanying mission of facilitating the provision of high-quality training for infrastructure development. We continue to build capacity beyond our borders especially in the East African Region.

The mandate of KIHBT is to provide training to ministerial staffs for performance improvement, provide training to the wider infrastructures sector and capacity building

Ngong Campus

Ngong Campus

KIHBT Ngong Campus constitutes of two centers: Plant Training School (PTS) and Field Practical Unit (FPU). The names were derived from their original functions.

Kisii Campus

Kisii Campus

Its origin dates back to 1978 when a training unit was established in Suneka-Kisii to train all personell of supervisory staff of the then Rural Access Roads Program (RARP) under the Ministry of Works then.
